Psalm 94: 18-19
When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your love O Lord supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul. Psalm 94: 18-19
Cast all your anxieties on the Lord because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
Have you ever had so many thoughts whirling about in your head that you could hardly stand it? You become irritable and frustrated and can’t seem to find the answer.
This is what this psalm is talking about. It refers to many thoughts running around in your head and causing you turmoil. This psalm was written and sung by people who felt that they needed someone to fight for them. They weren’t rich or powerful or popular. They were being oppressed by those who were. But, they knew they could go to God because He heard them and would fight for them. When you feel as if you have nowhere to stand, God is waiting for you to cry out to Him. The word consolation implies a mother soothing her child. This is how much God cares for you.
It is also what we can trust in the words of 1 Peter 5:7. When you go to God with your worries, He soothes you. He will fight for you and take care of you. Today, know that God’s presence will calm your mind and soothe your heart. So, give him your cares. He cares for you.
